Report to Attachment

Report to Attachment is an add-on for Dynamics 365 Business Central developed by BCILITY, allowing users to generate reports directly from the system and automatically attach them as files to specific records – such as customers, invoices, or other business documents.

This add-on is ideal for companies that want quick access to important financial and tax reports (e.g., trial balance, VAT report, chart of accounts) directly linked to data in the system, without the need for manually uploading files.

Key Benefits

  • Automatic generation and linking of reports to specific records
  • Ability to generate one or multiple reports at once
  • Support for custom attachment names or automatic name generation
  • Simple user interface within existing pages such as "Customers"

1. How to Use It

1.1 Creating a Single Report

In the Business Central environment, open the Customers card. On the right side in the Attachments section, click on Documents -> Show Details.

RepToAttach

A card will open where you select the Render Reports to Attachment action, which opens a new card to choose the report – for example: Chart of Accounts, where you can set filters (Account No., Account Type...).

1.2 Creating Multiple Reports at Once

When selecting the Render Reports to Attachment action and the window opens to choose which reports to convert to attachments, you can select multiple reports at once by clicking the three dots on the report line and choosing Select More.

After confirmation, a window opens to set filters for the first and then the second report, followed by entering the name for each file. Both files will then appear separately in the documents list.

You can also trigger the Render Reports to Attachment action from the line of added files by clicking the three dots. The procedure is the same as in the previous examples.
