Price History
Price History is an add-on for Dynamics 365 Business Central developed by BCILITY, allowing users to quickly and easily access the price history of items and services on sales and purchase documents. The application provides insight into previously used prices for the same customer or vendor, making it easier to create offers, negotiate, and control pricing.
This functionality is especially useful for companies dealing with a large number of items, various commercial terms, and seeking transparency in the pricing process.
Key Benefits
- Display of previous prices by item and customer/vendor
- Shows date, quantity, and document type (quote, order, invoice)
- Accessible directly from the line of a sales or purchase document
- Quick reference for commercial and sales teams
- Simple integration without additional setup
1. How to Use It
1.1 Sales Price Lists
When we open the Sales Price Lists page, we access one of the price lists from the list. On that price list, we have added items with specific prices. To test the app's functionality, we change the prices of a few items, and after each change, we must confirm it by clicking the Check Lines action. Prices can be changed multiple times in succession.
We can open the Price History Page by clicking the Price History Page action, where we can see all the item prices we have changed.
We can view or print the Price History Report by clicking the Price History Report action. The report can be filtered by item number, dates, and other filters as needed.
By confirming the Preview option, we get a report like this:
We can also access Price History from the Sales Price Lists page by selecting the price list for which we want to display the history page or report.
1.2 Changing the Price of a Single Item
On the Items card, we can select an item for which we want to view the price change history. After selecting, in the action bar, choose Prices and Discounts, where a dropdown menu will show the actions Price History Page and Price History Report. These work the same as in the price lists, but here they show the price change history of the selected item.
